Week 2-3: This week, we submitted our first lesson plan. Teacher Jho Mar A. Factor gave me an example of A Detailed Lesson Plan that helped me learn and make a better lesson plan. My subject matter in English Communication Arts – Language K is all about myself.
A few days I watched Teacher Jho Mar teaching. He has a really good pedagogic skills. I observed how he teach, how he communicates with pupils, how he manages his time. I also observed the class condition. The class made me realize that there are so much media to help pupils easy to learn new things.
I was chosen to be the first demo teacher so that I would not have to lengthen my agony and nervousness. I would like to be the first to set the standards so that expectations will not be very high. I had a little bit of pressure on my part as the first demo teacher. We had our impromptu teaching this week before we did the final demo teaching. This will enhance our self-confidence and know more about our pupils. I was feeling under the weather this week due to a cough and colds, nonetheless, I still push myself to teach. I was a little bit nervous and excited at the same time. I was nervous because I was the first student teacher in my group to do the demo teaching and be able to set the standards to be followed by my fellow student teachers. I was excited because it was my first time to teach in a classroom filled with actual pupils.
Week 4: This week we had our second and final demo teaching. I took videos of my demo teaching. I was the second student teacher to do the demo teaching. This time, I would prepare more carefully and master my lesson plan in order to deliver my lessons better based on the feedback that my lesson plan in order to deliver my lesson better based on the feedback that my TTI gave from my first demo teaching. I was able to use his feedback and opinions to improve my teaching skills and be able to come up better teaching strategies and make my own style in the classroom management.
